How we calculate

Last updated 12 October 2026

FindNuro is a research tool. Prices, sales ranks, reviews and fees are observed marketplace data from licensed third-party marketplace data providers. Sales, revenue, profit and the opportunity score are estimates: they are marked "est.", they show how they were made, and they are never Amazon-verified. When we don't have the data for a number, we show "Unavailable" instead of guessing.

Monthly sales estimates

Each estimate is labelled with how it was made:

These curves have not yet been checked against sellers' actual sales, and Amazon's figures are rounded buckets, so treat every estimate as a range, not an exact number.

Revenue and profit

Estimated revenue is estimated units times the current price. Profit uses the product's own referral fee and FBA fee from our data provider (plus Amazon's minimum referral fee) and default assumptions you can change: supplier cost 25% of the price, freight 5%, advertising 10% and returns 3%. If a product's fees are missing, we don't show a profit for it.

Opportunity score and confidence

The 0–100 score ranks research candidates. It is not a prediction of your sales or profit. It combines:

PartWeightWhat scores higher
Demand22%more estimated monthly sales
Review barrier18%fewer reviews across the variation family, and slower review growth
Estimated margin20%higher margin under the default assumptions
Seller crowding10%fewer sellers, and Amazon not selling the item
Price stability10%steadier prices over 90 days
Sales-rank trend10%rank improving over 90 days (not used for seasonal products)
Product risk10%no flags for size, hazmat, a dominant brand, seasonality or an entrenched best-seller

Products ranked in the top 100 of their category are capped at 60, because established best-sellers are hard to displace. A product isn't scored without a sales estimate or when less than 60% of the inputs are available.

Confidence (high, medium or low) depends on two things: how many of the inputs are available, and how good the sales estimate is. A score whose sales figure is only Amazon's "bought in past month" minimum is always low confidence. High confidence needs a category curve that fits well on a large sample.

Brand share

Brand share is a brand's share of estimated revenue among the products we track in the same niche (the narrowest part of the category tree with at least 10 tracked products). We show how many products it is based on. It is not a share of the whole Amazon category.

Seasonality and history

We keep up to a year of price and sales-rank history per product, plus Amazon's "bought in past month" history. A product is flagged as seasonal when its best three months average at least 2.5 times a typical month and the peak repeats the next year, or has clearly passed. With less history we say so; words in the title are only a hint.

What we can't tell you yet

If a number looks wrong, email contact@shahidanwaruniversity.com with the product's ASIN and we'll look into it.
